Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in sustainability, environmental sciences, business administration, or a related field. A combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
• Proven experience (8+ years) in sustainability consulting, including expertise in environmental sustainability, social impact, and corporate responsibility.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
• Excellent consulting and project management skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.
• In-depth knowledge of sustainability frameworks, standards (such as GRI, CDP, ISO 14001), and regulatory requirements.
• Strong business acumen and ability to understand client needs, develop business strategies, and drive revenue growth.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Professional certifications in sustainability (e.g., LEED, CSR, CSCP) are highly desirable

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the strategic direction for the sustainability consulting practice, aligning it with the overall business objectives and market trends.

Identify emerging sustainability issues, market opportunities, and potential risks, and adapt the consulting practice accordingly.

Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and thought leadership within the team.

Team Management: Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a team of sustainability consultants, ensuring their professional growth and performance excellence.

Assign and delegate project responsibilities, ensuring proper resource allocation and efficient project execution.

Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages knowledge sharing and teamwork.

Client Engagement: Engage with clients at a strategic level, understanding their sustainability challenges, goals, and aspirations.

Provide expert advisory services to clients, identifying opportunities for sustainable practices, developing tailored solutions, and recommending best practices.

Build and nurture long-term client relationships, maintaining a high level of client satisfaction and ensuring repeat business.

Project Delivery: Lead and oversee the delivery of sustainability consulting projects, ensuring they are executed within scope, timeline, and budget.

Provide guidance and support to consultants in developing project strategies, methodologies, and deliverables.

Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure the accuracy and relevance of project outputs.

Thought Leadership and Business Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, frameworks, and regulations in sustainability consulting.

Contribute to the development of thought leadership content, whitepapers, and industry publications.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities, collaborating with the sales and marketing teams to expand the client base and drive revenue growth.

Qualification

• Good working knowledge of all Google Suite applications and MS Word.
• Diligent, reliable, and proactive.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced international environment.
• Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
• University degree, ideally at a master’s level, in a sustainability-related field, with components of materials science or circular economy.
• Relevant knowledge of sustainability challenges and solutions in the value chain from technical materials
• Extensive relevant work experience in sustainability consulting or related fields.
• Excellent project management skills, from both a technical and administrative standpoint, and proven ability to guide project teams in a multi-stakeholder and multi-geographies context.
• Excellent writing skills, with proven expertise in creating and reviewing high-quality written documents (proposals and deliverables).
• Excellent stakeholder and client management skills.
• Industry-relevant connections, with a network of potential clients, collaborators, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of environmental sustainability challenges and specific consultancy experience in the relevant areas of the practice.
• Demonstrable commercial skills and good business sense to be able to identify and seize opportunities in a challenging and competitive market environment.
• Excellent oral and written skills in English and other Asian languages are highly regarded.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Become an expert in climate change to provide advice, guidance, and support to ensure strategic alignment to mitigate risks and manage pressures from climate change for leading companies in Southeast Asia.
• Be part of a team of consultants providing advice and strategic support for clients consisting of listed and non-listed companies
• Provide support to project owners and generators in strategic management of green attributes.
• Development and calculation of organizations’ carbon and GHG footprints to support and seek opportunities and establish strategies for reductions.
• Understanding cross-border adjustment mechanisms, carbon tax, supply chain pressures, net zero/ neutrality target setting, and providing advice to organizations to strategically address these challenges.
• Identify initiatives, climate projects, campaigns, and energy efficiency technologies to support GHG reductions for clients.
• Stay up to date with the latest climate pact agreements, trends, and advancements in the market.
• Manage and oversee medium- to large-scale sustainability consulting projects from the beginning to the end of their project cycle, including initiation, planning, design, implementation, monitoring, and controlling.
